On the one hand, when a dog licks any part of our skin, it is enjoying an inherent flavor in our pores: salty. Dogs love this aroma and this can be verified because when we sweat they are more receptive to licking us.

Something that culturally would be a lack of education and that it would not make any sense to do it in humans, for dogs it can be a pleasure. However, they go further, because with that salty taste there is also an unequivocal trait of us, that personal touch that only we have, the smell and taste of ourselves. Dogs do not use sight as much as smell and taste, for this reason feeling at home sometimes translates into licking the person who symbolizes home for them.
